2013
Operations started January 2nd, 2013, in a small warehouse near Hobby Airport in Houston, TX with 3 employees and Hyster 155 forklift. In the first few months of operations, the team grew with people that were willing to take a risk and join a startup company because they believed in better service to their customers and better work environment for their employees.
2014
In 2014, we purchased an automated concrete batch plant from Mixer Systems, Inc. and started producing our own proprietary self-consolidating concrete mix designs. After months of engineering and quality control reviews, CenterPoint Energy approved Locke as the 2nd of only 2 precast companies to design and produce precast power manholes in the Houston region. In this same year, Locke’s quality control program was certified by the NPCA (National Precast Concrete Association) and has maintained this certification ever since.
2014
Additionally, after being awarded our first $1m+ project at the end of 2013 for the San Jacinto River Authority, we produced and finished out this project with over a mile of trenches for chemical lines, 2 large 40’ long meter vaults, and numerous electrical and communication manhole structures throughout the project in 2014.
2015
In 2015, we expanded our production capacity by adding a 40-ton bridge crane to our facility to complement our first 20-ton bridge crane allowing us to accelerate our growth. At this point, virtually all of our business came from repeat business and customer referrals.
2016
In response to continued growth, we purchased 17.5 acres in 2016 and started designing a new facility specifically to accommodate a specialty precast concrete manufacturing operation.
2017
After breaking ground in March of 2017, we built a new 41,750 sq ft facility with a 9,000 sq ft office and breakroom space for our employees. The facility was specially designed with a future expansion in mind for both the office and facility space. The new facility started with 4 bridge cranes up to 50-ton capacity and a underground tunnel system for material conveyance feeding each of the 3 main production bays.
2018
By 2018, the growth of the Locke team and operations warranted the development of a true Executive Leadership Team. This Leadership Team has evolved over the years and continues to be a crucial component of maintaining the vision and core values of company to present day.
2019
In 2019, we expanded our production capacity again by adding 2 additional bridge cranes and giving us a total maximum indoor single lift capacity up to 200,000 lbs for a single structure.
2021
In 2021, continued growth led to an expansion of more than 56,000 sq ft of concrete paved laydown space, 2 additional bridge cranes, and the construction of a 1,000 sq ft quality control lab.
2022
In 2022, an additional 8,000 sq ft of office space was built out on our 2nd floor to accommodate growing engineering, estimating, and project management teams.
2023
In January of 2023 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary and shortly after, we opened our 2nd facility in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex. Our Alvarado facility is 40,000 sq feet giving us a a local presence in the North Texas market.
2023
We opened our first Mobile Precast Operation in South Texas. Our client came to us with a need for large box culverts on a demanding schedule and our Mobile Operations Team was born. With our on-site operations, we are providing a unique service by being their personal Precaster, reducing delivery costs, and reducing the carbon footprint of their project.
Concrete Batching
Our automated concrete batching system is a planetary-style mixer and has the ability to pour 2 CYDs every 6 minutes.
Yard Expansion
Our newly expanded yard is an entirely paved space of 3+ acres. It is designed for heavy duty loads, allowing us to have quicker, safer access to all stored materials and products
Rebar Department
We use the latest heavy-duty equipment to cut, bend and fabricate our own rebar in-house. Utilizing rebar tie guns, we've increased efficiency and safety across the production floor.
Bridge Cranes
We're equipped with (2) 50 Ton with double hoists, (1) 40 Ton, (3) 20 Ton, and (2) 10 Ton throughout the facility. If we can make it, we can lift it.
Aggregate Hoppers
We have (4) 25 Ton aggregate hoppers that are covered and located below grade. Each is equipped with moisture sensors and weight scales that are connected to our automated batching system, ensuring an accurate mix.
Production Bays
Our (4) productions bays together are over 40,000 sq ft. With up to 40' of hook height and our crane capacity, we can produce products of all shapes and sizes within a controlled environment.
