History
2013
Operations started January 2nd, 2013 in a small warehouse near Hobby Airport in Houston, TX with three employees and a Hyster 155 forklift. Within the first few months, the team grew with individuals who were willing to take a risk and join a startup because they believed in providing better service to customers and creating a better work environment for employees.
2014
In 2014, we purchased an automated concrete batch plant from Mixer Systems, Inc. and started producing our own proprietary self-consolidating concrete mix designs. After months of engineering and quality control reviews, CenterPoint Energy approved Locke as the 2nd of only 2 precast companies to design and produce precast power manholes in the Houston region. In this same year, Locke’s quality control program was certified by the NPCA (National Precast Concrete Association) and has maintained this certification ever since.
2014
Additionally, after securing our first $1m+ project at the end of 2013 for the San Jacinto River Authority, we successfully completed production in 2014. This project included over a mile of trenches for chemical lines, two large 40-foot-long meter vaults, and numerous electrical and communication manhole structures throughout the site.
2015
In 2015, we expanded our production capacity by adding a 40-ton bridge crane to complement our existing 20-ton bridge crane, enabling us to accelerate our growth. By this time, nearly all of our business came from repeat customers and referrals, a testament to our commitment to quality and service.
2016
In response to continued growth, we purchased 17.5 acres and began designing a new facility tailored to support our specialized precast concrete manufacturing operation.
2017
After breaking ground in March, we constructed a 41,750 sq. ft. facility, including a 9,000 sq. ft. office and breakroom space for employees. Designed for future expansion, both the office and production areas were built with growth in mind. The new facility featured four bridge cranes with capacities up to 50 tons and an underground tunnel system for material conveyance, efficiently feeding each of the three main production bays.
2018
By 2018, Locke’s continued growth called for the development of a true Executive Leadership Team. Over the years, this team has evolved, playing a crucial role in upholding the company’s vision and core values.
2019
In 2019, we expanded our production capacity once again by adding two additional bridge cranes, increasing our total maximum indoor single-lift capacity to 200,000 lbs per structure.
2020
In 2020, we played a pivotal role in the Northeast Water Purification Plant (NEWPP) project. Our custom-designed troughs were integral to the main processing plant’s functionality. Additionally, we produced specialized compressor building wall panels, which were installed over the lake.
2021
In 2021, continued growth led to the expansion of over 56,000 sq ft of concrete-paved laydown space, the addition of 2 more bridge cranes, and the construction of a 1,000 sq ft quality control lab.
2022
In 2022, we expanded our office space with an additional 8,000 sq ft on the 2nd floor to accommodate the growing engineering, estimating, and project management teams.
2023
In January of 2023, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. Shortly after, we expanded our footprint by opening a 40,000 sq ft facility in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex, establishing a strong local presence in the North Texas market.
2023
We launched our first Mobile Precast Operation in South Texas to meet a client’s urgent need for large box culverts on a demanding schedule. This innovative solution led to the creation of our Mobile Plants operation. By operating on-site, we are able to serve as a dedicated Precaster, cutting delivery costs and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the project.
2024
We enhanced our Dallas/Ft Worth facility in 2024 by adding a new batch plant. This strategic investment boosted our production efficiency, enabling us to better serve the North Texas market with increased capacity and faster turnaround times.
