How custom engineering and ConSeal™ CS-55 coating provided a durable, moisture-resistant solution for a complex telecommunications vault.
This project recently shipped out of our Houston location to a Dallas data center after our customer, Morley Moss, requested a deep telecommunications vault for their data center project.
Notice the black coating on this telecommunications vault? That’s CS-55 coating. This specialized coating provides long-lasting moisture protection for underground concrete structures, helping safeguard the critical infrastructure that keeps data centers connected. It protects the concrete and the vital infrastructure it houses, while also serving as an eco-friendly option than traditional damp proofing methods.
The vault measured 12 ft x 16 ft x 22 ft and weighed approximately 270,200 pounds. Manufactured in six precast sections, it was engineered to align with an existing duct bank on site.
Once assembled, the finished structure stood over 23 feet tall.
Ashley Norman, Estimator IV, was closely involved in the project from its early planning stages through its development. Her role extended beyond preparing the initial quote, as she worked closely with the CAD team during the pre-Purchase Order phase to coordinate drawings and revisions, supported pricing updates, and continued assisting the internal team after the project was awarded. Her continued involvement helped ensure that key details established early in the process were carried out as the project progressed.
